One of the most visited countries of the world, Switzerland is not the darling of tourists for nothing. With stunning views of the Alps and rejuvenating sounds of the color changing streams rush by, it never ceases to impress you. Its a country you will certainly not visit just once. I went to Switzerland way back in 2006 and have been longing to go back ever since. And unlike last time when I hit the touristy circuit, I would definitely go for the more off beaten beauty of this wonderland. I have put together some of the choicest shots from that short sojourn in the Summer of 2006 tripping right through the heart of Switzerland.
My Route
Zurich -> Mt Titlis -> Interlaken -> Jungfrau -> Mt Pilatus -> Lucerne -> Zurich
I had made Interlaken my base to visit the Jungfraujoch, the highest peak in Europe at 3454 above MSL. I was waiting for the bus at the stop just outside my hotel and finally when the bus arrived I realised I was actually waiting on the wrong side. Unlike the UK, where I had flown in from and India which is where I belong, Switzerland was actually a Right Hand driving nation as is most of Europe. That was my first brush with the vagaries of road rules and the subtle remnants of our colonial past.
